SOUTH AUSTRALIA

All national parks, wildlife national parks, wilderness protection areas and reserves in the Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island, and Lower South East fire ban districts will close on Friday, January 04 (12.01am - 11.59pm) in the interest of public safety due to the Catastrophic Fire Danger Conditions forecast in these areas.

South Australia's Country Fire Service is on high alert as a fire continues to burn in the Clare Valley. The fire is burning in 30 hectares of scrub and within control lines, however the next two days will see temperatures rise into the 40's along with strong winds of up to 55 kilometres per hour.

The CFS has declared a statewide fire ban for South Australia as extreme weather conditions place fire fighters on high alert.
