Extreme fire danger for SA today.

A new waste facility in South Australia's Riverland is expected to create more than 15 jobs. Waste management provider Transpacific has confirmed it will provide a large-scale recycling facility for the region.

Australians use 13 billion drink containers each year (astonishing isn’t it! That’s 565 drinks per Australian, or 1.5 per person per day!). Only 40 per cent are recycled, whereas in South Australia, 80 per cent are. With a CDS in place, savings are massive including water, energy, resources, greenhouse gases and litter, whilst creating thousands of jobs.

The South Australian Museum, with the support of Inspiring Australia and the help of CSIRO, is using 3-D technology to produce a virtual tour and model of Koonalda Cave, which features Indigenous artwork from 30,000 years ago – the oldest in the world.

Environment groups have applauded the Federal Government's rejection of a proposal for seismic exploration off Western Australia's north-west but say more needs to be done to protect areas of environmental significance.

A group of environmentalists is campaigning to cease the expansion of Australia's $48 billion coal export industry.In a letter printed in a national newspaper, the alliance of academics and environmental groups says coal mining is the biggest contributor to Australian climate change.

There are already calls for more information about each forestry area marked for protection under Tasmania's forestry peace deal, just days after they were defined. Tasmania's Upper House is investigating legislation crucial for the deal to reduce native forest logging.
